Dear little loves,

I am writing you to simply say, I love you.

I want you to look back on this journal of sorts and learn something.

Learn from my own experiences, my passions and my mistakes.

I want you to understand how critical it is you treat everyone with kindness.

Its a small small world and those people you cause pain, will someday haunt you.

Not in the literal sense, but in your mind as regrets.

Everyone's connected in one way or another.

So remember, being graceful, sincere and honest will get you far in life.

I may write to you every now and again.

Oddly, its hard for me to do, not because I am at a loss for words.

There is just too much to say, where do I start?

But overall please know...you are irreplaceable.

My dear friend Ciara and I bring out a funny side of each other. Geeky one might say...

Anywho, I always try to take my friends out for bday dinner and we finally found a night free from our kiddos.
Shes got such a dry sense of humor and can deliver a punch line like no other.

One main reason why shes a keeper, we tend to play jokes on strangers.

For example, we will walk around holding hands and ramble things like,
"come with mommies billy"

What can I say, the facial expressions are priceless.

We are nerds and I swear very mature.

My boy turned 6 this week...

Birthday breakfast is a big deal in our little family and he chose Ruths diner just up the canyon.
I love our little one on one moments. The things he says always crack me up.
This year, he wanted Christmas cupcakes, hes got this weird thing for Christmas colors.
I kinda love it about him, so I always try to play into it.

When I took cupcakes into his class, his teachers aid pulled me aside and said...

"I try to not pick favorites but his voice melts my heart. I adore him"
She is right, and when that voice changes I may cry.

He is the most lovable little boy I know.

I am so grateful to call him mine.

Falling in love

Its no secret I am a passionate person.

I daydream, I try to be hopeful, I want to believe.

I was recently asked if I fall in love easily, oddly enough...I answered yes.

Despite the fact I can say, I've only truly loved one man in my little lifetime.

I do it all the time.

I fall in love with a view or a series of words.

I fall for melodies that play on repeat, which in return inspire a photograph.

I find it thrilling watching the light dance and seeing my couples blissful in love.

It may sound silly but, I can honestly say, I am a romantic.

I am not romantic in the sense of needing a man to make me happy.

Ironically enough, that's the only thing in my life that's made me unhappy.

I fall in love with beauty or something raw and honest.

I love sincerity and have mini love affairs weekly.

I try to find the most inspiring things in my world and feed off of them.

Its what makes me tick and more importantly, its what makes me happy.

I do not fall in love in the traditional sense.

It takes a blow torch to warm this heart of mine but,

it doesn't mean there isn't room.

Go ahead, make a mockery...

at least I know what I was made for.

The last few weeks my dreams are more real than I would like them to be.
Some are random, others are of memories, but then a few have been outright nightmares.
It takes me a solid ten minutes of being awake to convince myself it wasn't real. None of it was real.
Its strange when pieces of your current life mix with something surreal.
Some of the highlights, my family was stalked by some creepo and I had to call the cops while he broke into my house.
ummm yea, my heart was racing when I woke up. In another one I got married, freaked out and divorced the guy the next day.
My family and friends were all mad at me, it was nuts. I woke up feeling this heavy guilt cause I didnt love him.
Lastly, one was just a normal day, I ran my kids around, made dinner, did wedding edits and my web designer called
to said the images I sent were awful choices and I needed to send a new batch.
While chating with my web designer today I had to ask, um am I crazy, did you message me saying you needed new pictures or was that in my dream.
I dunno if my bedtime routine needs to change but, Im getting sick of these heavy hearted starts to my day.
Im not the kinda girl who reads into things, I dont believe in all that junk but, some of these have got me tripped out.

Maybe Ill try sleeping with the light on tonight.

My litte guy wrote three things down on his christmas list.

3: painting lessons

They normally do not let kindergartners in class but, he passed the test.

Today he got his very first lesson and his teacher said hes extremely advanced.

He has never been big into sports and I always knew something like this would be up his alley.

Class is two hours, so kitkat and I walked around, got a bite to eat and picked up a few books.

I was a proud mama when he understood shading during class, so happy to call him mine.

While in San Fransisco, my friend abi to took a few pictures of my kids and I in the city.
I just wanted candid, simple shots of us walking calmly through the christmas chaos.
Not the "look at the camera" or "hey smile" kinda shots. Just a stroll through San Fran.
I love my kids so so very much. Its crazy how two little souls can define your life.
I love the fact my little man still loves to hold his mothers hand...
and my kitkat..shes so much like me it scares me.
Being a single mom isnt always easy.
It scary and hard and a big task BUT,
it defines me. Its what I am...
I am grateful for it.

Cookie pouch and crumbles

The holidays were unkind to my cookie pouch, ya know... the place where you keep all your extra cookies. Sitting with friends eating all the sweets and cheese plates is never ideal. Abi and I have a little competition on who can drop the most holiday weight by WPPI. Its only a few months away so I am adding boot camp classes to my running regime. I love these classes because its way more fun to work out with friends. Ill be sure to keep you posted on who wins. Another random tid bit... as most of you know, I have a sleeping disorder. Self diagnosed but, a disorder none the less. I love the movies and have never been a big tv girl. If I did watch tv its either food network, modern family or new girl. Lately I have been dosing to sleep with portlandia on. Its such a funny show.
I know most of you have seen this but it still makes me laugh every time.

Its the first day of a new year. Amazing how time flies faster and faster the older I get. With each passing season, I think about how much more I could have done. What I could have done better or who I could have loved more. Life is short, that's why our goals and work ethic is so important. All I want, is at the end of my life to be able to say, I did enough and I did it well. There is no grass is greener, we need to stop thinking how others can benefit us and more so, how we can benefit others. The moment I think I have reach my peak, is the moment my life becomes mundane. I don't believe you can ever be happy by taking the easy route. When it comes down to it, at the end of the day, you didn't do the work to experience pride in yourself. I am not the girl in need of a yellow brick road. I don't want one, in fact I am thankful mine has been anything but golden the last year. Only because, even though 2011 was possibly one of the hardest years for me personally... I can say, I have grown. My life isn't mundane, I have amazing things ahead and so much to experience. Some goals are personal, others are the expected but, all can be done. Just remember, no one ever has it figure out. We are all stumbling along, its just what you do with yourself when you fall. My little ones and my creative process consume my new years resolutions. Among all my goals I have made for this year, being the best me in that minute, day or month is all I need to focus on. I dont expect perfection...just that I try.
Simply being honest with yourself is enough

I joke around the holidays that I am a orphan. I got a urge to be anywhere but here, just change our view a little. Which means this Christmas, the kids and I are headed to the west coast for a Christmas get away. I want to make it special for them, something they will remember. I have hid all the gifts from santa in a box and am getting the car packed up first thing in the morning. My edits are done and 2011s loose ends are pretty much tied up. Let me just say, its so nice working indoors during the winter.
Weddings leave me out in the cold and jealous of full time studio photogs this time of year.
I basically drug my bedroom into the studio space. Yes, my room consists of linens, my favorite mirror and candles, Im a simple girl...well in that regard.

I am at a loss for clever words, due to the fact I am sick. I am on my LAST SESSION of the year and can twiddle my thumbs and say, I AM ALL CAUGHT UP! Believe me, these little moments are something us photographers bask in. Why??? because its rare. Kinda like when you wash and put away your last bit of laundry. You sigh with relief and enjoy the fabric softer smell for a brief moment, only to find a new pile has accrued. It is so true, that our ideals are the things that blind us from our own path. That for whatever reason, we cant see past the images burned into our minds. I find inspiration in so many things, sometimes its hard to see just "one" way of life, one ideal ending or one perfect path. I love change, most people fear it but me, I crave it. I need to to keep my life interesting. Over lunch with a photog friend we talked about the up coming year and my branding, I asked her opinion. Do you think my clients notice that every 6 months I get board of my black&white edit, so I change it. Do they notice the changes in my branding or the fact I switched my approach to documenting families??? Her reply was "You are consistently inconsistent." At first I wasn't sure how to take that. I mean, is it a good thing or a slap in the face? She defended her comment by saying, "The emotion is what makes you, you. The rest doesn't matter. You adapt to the client" I know I can change my logo or my branding and it wont impact my clients because, its about the story, the people and the love. What you see is what you get, sometimes I just throw in a upgrade. Who doesn't like a upgrade? Within photography everyone say PICK a style, a brand and do not venture from it. But I feel, as if I am constantly tweaking or "evolving" if you will. Whats the point of being creative if you cant be .... creative. So, being consistently inconsistent is the best complement a artist can get. While I am brainstorming my new branding I have a million ideas. But I also know in a year it will need a face lift anyways. While working on a inspiration board I thought I would share something pretty with you all.
No ones life turns out how they thought it would. Thankfully, we can paint our own ideal.

Lets be real, we whine about how little sleep we got or what time we need to be up in the morning.
We joke about twinner outfits, we repeat LISTEN way more than we should and I have said the exact words

Other Tuesday tid bits and things this girl says...

I am STILL in my work out gear and have no plans to change

Im running on a solid TWO hours of sleep, but laundry is done, dinners made and my sick girls feeling better.

I refused to look at my phone more than twice today, I needed a disconnect from the world.

I am only three...count it THREE sessions away from being completely caught up with edits. That is until I add this months weddings to the mix.
I have been keeping my running goal but I totally biffed it last night on black ice. Its okay to laugh at me, Im sure the passing cars did.

Finding teachers their Christmas gifts is a pain because my kids have A LOT of input. I cant convince Bman that his teacher will not want a paddle ball toy with candy.

Lastly, I am looking forward to a bath and my Tuesday night Tivo. New girl and modern family are my happy places.

Once again, my vision wasnt the easiest to find. I think next year, we will have to go cut down our own tree to get the look we want. I have been spoil and always had a pre lit tree. Who knew getting lights up would be such a pain the butt. Please dont look closely at my string job. The kiddo were thrilled to finally have it up. Kitkat has been using my old D300 and learning to take pictures. We have been working together on it quite a bit. Not bad composition for an 8 year old. Proud mama

Like everyone else, my kids LOVE angry birds. At the 7 eleven they had angry birds gummy candies. Kitkat and Bman were thrilled and got the idea to play angry birds in real life. So they set up a fort built out of play dough and gathered all the pigs. Every pig you knocked down, you got to eat. Bman was BEAMING and so pleased with his invention.

My world is made up of cursive lines. Every word, every line connecting to the next.

I have always been a movie lover. I am super easy date as well, all I need is dinner and movie....

Either I am at the cinema or hiding out in my bed with a couple snacks and i tune downloads.
Since I see a lot of movies but never share the keepers, I thought a blog post was in order.

Here is a personal review

I like beautifully filmed movies but Melancholia was to much of a mind trip for me to enjoy. If you set that aside, the acting was amazing and the visual aspect was stunning

For lovers only is a windswept black and white photographers delight. Or maybe its the wanderlust side of me that just drools over the scenes of Europe.

Like crazy was smart and real. I loved it

The future was... different. I was needing something quirky, you will be thinking wtf half the time. Id say skip it.

Our idiot brother kept me laughing, I loved every minute and plus it stars one of my girl crushes Zooey

Last, The Descendants, It was a heavier movie and sometimes was little overboard with the lingo but I thought it was money well spent.

The hunt - part one

We are on a hunt for our Dr. Suess Christmas tree. You know, the skinny, sparse, wonky one nobody wants. I never had a real tree growing up and our new tradition is to have the non traditional Christmas tree. Unfortunately we hit TWO shops and found nothing but perfect, chubby, picturesque trees. The kids love the idea and we are bound and determined to find it. Tomorrow I am confindent we will find the right little tree for our little home. As for my children not wearing their coats, I was letting them learn the hard way to not argue wearing jackets in December... I think I got my point across. ;) Lesson learned.

Pulling a kristy

I have always been a night owl and lately I have taken it to a whole new level. The late nights are starting to show in my under eye circles and my everyday behavior. In my family, there is a joke and phrase called pulling a Kristy. Its a term of endearment for being a little forgetful. My sisters a riot and has a habit of funny forgetful moments. Well, a week ago I had to call up my sister, whom I love and say.... "I pulled a Kristy." She thoroughly enjoyed this story. Let me preface this by saying, I am a smart girl but, I have been working HARD, really hard these days. The constant shuffle of kids, shooting, re branding and edits are at a whole new demand level. I got it under control despite these little moments. ;) There were a few weeks I did nothing but edit. I have big goals for next year and a little goal to enjoy 6 weeks of simplicity with my kids before 2012 wedding season begins. I wont lie, I have been rather proud of myself. I have been getting better and better at a organized flow that allows me to be mom/friend despite the workload. In this particular instance it had been 72 hours with only a few hours of shut eye between. I was on one of my everyday trips to the gas station for a Monster rehab. I grab my drink and the kidlets a snack. I browsed for a bit, thinking about what else needed to be done that day. I pick up a couple bags of chex mix and make my way back to the car. I get in, start to open the bags, then I notice the worker walk to the front of my car and wave. I was thinking, wow.. this guys hitting on me and I look like complete crap... hmmm okay. I reluctantly roll down my window and say "hey, can I help you?" He reply's with " ummmm ma'am, you need to pay for those." Yep, I was shoplifting.... I parked, grab the stolen treats along with my wallet. I rush in repeating how silly I feel and that I am SO sorry. He laughed and said "no big deal it happens all the time." I was thinking... yeah, I am sure it does and I bet those people are really trying to steal 10 bucks worth of goods, I am just a multitasking retard. To add to it, there were 4 people in line listening to my list of reasons and babble how dumb I feel, doubting every word I said. I mean who does that, walks in with full intent of paying and just walks out without noticing. Today's another ordinary day. Went for a run, made "yokey" eggs for the kiddos, did some laundry and got ready for the movies. We are heading out to see Hugo and I had to note, the sharing of closets has begun. First it was my necklace, which quickly changed to one of my circle scarfs and then she needed some colorful socks. Top it off with her little smirk and its safe to say shes mine.... other than the fact there has been a lot of Rhianna and Katy perry in the car these days. She loves it and its kinda rubbing off. Billy on the other hand, loves Avett brothers and Fun. He is taking a lot of interest in artistic based things. He wants to paint now and asks about my cameras a lot. I am thinking of enrolling him in a art class at the local supply store. Its so fun to see the interests they have and wonder who they will become...I know kitkat and I will be best friends and lil Billy holds my heart. They are the best thing Ive ever done, I dont know how I got so blessed. They are perfect.... and all I need.

Being the only member of my family in utah and it not being my year with the kidlets, holidays can be uneventful. On my off year, I always go get a turkey dinner and hit up the movies. This year, me and court went to little America and then to the broadway to see Like Crazy. I had been DYING to see this movie but it was only in select theaters. Finally, the broadway picked it up. I loved it, most movies portray only the happy side of relationships. Well this is a real relationship with love and all the crap in between. "Its the halves that half us in half." I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving with family. I am so grateful for my amazing children, my family and my friends

I am a slacker on so many of my fun, little blog post. Here's a tid bit more from my trip back in September. Ciara and I attended the Beloved workshop. It was beautiful and inspiring but its a heavier workshop. So, we lighten things up by goofing off. Road trip

You know in the movies, when a car loses control and the slow motion begin, the passengers grab the handles on the door and make eye contact with the car that's about to hit them head on. Well I had one of those moments... Courtney had a class she was taking down in Vegas and we had some friends we could meet up with. I was kid less and shoot less this weekend so, I said I would tag along. She picked me up, we got on I -15 and two minutes into our trip, the car in front of us swerves to avoid a metal ladder that was on the freeway. Courtney tried to do the same and we started to lose control, she was silent but I calmly repeated, you're over correcting, your over correcting... and before we knew it we were doing a 180 into on coming traffic. As we spun around, for the first time in my life, I believed I was about to die. It was the strangest feeling ever, I even said it out loud twice and looked to see what car I would watch slam into us head on. I braced myself for the impact and my heart sunk when I saw a suv and a semi coming at us. We were done, I knew it... thankfully they were able to slam on their brakes and we sat there for a minute before being able to move. When I replay it in my head I still remember that feeling, wholeheartedly thinking you are about to die is a crazy thing to feel. Oddly enough I was really calm .... too calm. Sounds dramatic, but it was. We got there and back safely with lots of fun in the middle. I love dancing but missed my babies. Happy to be back to the everyday hum drum. I didn't take any of us out and about, who wants to carry a camera in Vegas? So all I got was photos from the car and us looking like bums :)

Double wedding

Tonight I got to witness two weddings, that of the bride currently on my Blush blog, followed by Edward and Bella's long awaited union. Tay is one of my best friends little sisters, I grew up just a few house up from them and love their family to pieces. Garrett (tays new hubby) is so sweet to sit back and watch with her. I'm sure he doesn't even notice the way he takes care of her, watches her step and wants to make sure shes okay at all times. I shot their engagements, their groomals and it was so natural and sweet. She is his special thing and simply adores her. Anyways, their wedding was so much fun, we did a flash mob dance and that means, there is one more thing I can cross off my bucket list. After the wedding I rushed down to meet friends at the breaking dawn pre screening. Now let me preface this by saying, I am a twilight fan, always have been, always will be but, I laughed....A LOT. This movie was a riot, solely because the awkward moments between the newly weds. I had visions of love and passion and was given... cringing moments of OMG did she really just say that ....and ...someone should smack that intense look off his face. Either way, due to my loyalty, I enjoyed it...but I do love to laugh.

Like most photographers, good old facebook is a daily necessity.
If photoshop is open fb is the window behind it. Since music is one of the biggest parts of my day, friends and I are always sharing new finds. I opened my inbox and found this amazing song. I love it, everything about it and by the end I had chills. (Thanks for sharing Mr Moss.) You see it all the time, people needing someone, anyone to fill a certain role. This songs the perfect example of that dynamic. I don't need a false warmth, I don't need the cold company. Take a listen and admit..You LOVED it. I am off to do a little indoor rock climbing. First snow fall

Its officially chilly here in Utah, we had our first little snowstorm come through and oddly enough, I got really excited. I normally shed a tear about how short our fall season is, but Im looking forward to things only snow can complete. Like, the need for hot hand warmers in my boots while I shoot, a good cuddle session and of course going snowboarding. (although I'm not super gifted) I am wanting to get Billy into snowboarding lessons this year, so that will be fun to see how he enjoys it. All and all, I try to get the most out of every season, find the bright spots. A fire and blanket is as bright as it gets.

I got up at 5 am, packed my camera bag along with a few necessities like gum and chapstick, then off to the airport I went. I was thrilled to get a referral from a bride I shot in Malibu just a few months ago. I love to travel, I love not knowing what in is store once I step off the plane. I love meeting new people and Sion and Kathy were nothing but a delight to spend the day with. They were so sweet and treated me to a couple DELICIOUS meals, one of which David spade was at the next table. I am a nerd and had to take a picture. I resisted the urge to draw little arrows on the photo around where I wrote his name, feel free to make fun of me. Then we wasted a few hours getting to know each other and telling all the stories of boy meets girl. At last, the perfect time of day arrived and we had our shoot. I am thrilled with the outcome and cant wait to share on the Blush blog. It wasn't my typical session, I was in and out in less than 24 hours and really got to tell a different story.
Their wedding is going to be amazing, I cant wait.

I Love playing up the holidays, its so fun to see the kids get so excited about the simplest of things. Two weeks ago I bought a Halloween candy jar and have been changing out the candy every few days, they thought this was the greatest thing ever! Since its not my year to take the kidlets trick or treating, I want to fit in as much Halloween as I could. This little dinner, paired with a scooby doo movie was a hit. All the recipes can be found here. Its insanely easy and took me no more than 30 mins.

Another one of the little milestones moms take note of but, no one else cares to hear about... the tooth fairy came this week.
With every tooth she loses, I keep waiting for her to hit the awkward stage, and yet... I think she is just a beautiful as ever. I had one heck of a awkward stage, I had awful allergies when we lived in North Carolina. So picture me scraggly, toothless, then add in a BRIGHT red nose and a constant sniffle. I had my own tissue boxes in my class because I used so many. I slept sitting up right, with four pillows under me so I would not die from lack of air. It was rough and I still cringe when I think about it. On a side note, I picked up some little boots at Ross this week and she LOVES them because they have a heel. It was sweet to watch her prance around in them feeling so grown up. Plus they were only 15 bucks, cant beat that! Here's a few pics of us on another one of our walks, I never tire of them

Atleast once a week Kim and I have a lunch date. I was craving the chow truck on Monday but sadly it wasn't in service that day, so I was thrilled to get a text from Kim saying it was near by and we had ourselves a date. I look rather homeless ... I have had a several emails and a few comments about The braille & gold shop opening. I have been putting some sort of focus into it almost daily. I am someone who has to force myself to be content with my work. Not because I am indeed content, mainly so I can sleep at night and shut off my mind. I wont settle for average, I wont be mediocre..I want to excel at the things I am passionate about. I understand art of any kind is completely subjective and I don't expect for everyone to love what I do, BUT I do expect for me to love it. I need to be proud to put my name on it and call it mine. I am closing that gap of trial and error, I am growing due to the constant shooting. I have ideas whirling and things to master before I open the shop. I am proud of blush, not that I am not constantly trying to grow in that area of my work too. I want to be equally proud of braille & gold. Not everything with the braille&gold water mark is part of any series but its still my work none the less, so I mark it.
This is a brand new outlet for me, there is lots of growing to be done... be patient with me.
Above all else, it must provoke feeling and depict, in some way, a bit of me.

Mid October means its time to start following through on Costume plans.

My daughters mind is ever changing, so I have asked several times what does she want to be for Halloween.
Today while driving to a friends for dinner and a play date I asked again.

"So kitkat, we need to get your costume, what do you want to be this year? "

She replies " oh I KNOW, a dead vampire cheerleader."

"Okay" I nod, "we can do that...."

Then I go to billy who's been very "meh" about his Halloween costume.

"so Billy, what are YOU gonna be for Halloween?"

He answers very nonchalantly "Naybe (which is what his maybe sounds like) I'll just be me...naybe"

I laughed and asked "are you sure? You are too sweet to be scary"

He puts me in my place by raising his hands near his face and growling, "yes I am very scary, see."

I guess this year I only have one little costume to buy, unless I can change his mind.

I was a little blue about the rain yesterday

I dread shooting weddings in the snow

BUT I LOVE LAYERS

This is a typical outfit I wear while shooting.
It was a rainy wedding, so I let my hair do its own thing with a little salt water spray in it.
I am not afraid of color and I love mixing a matching patterns.
I was recently asked if I just have a million outfits cause I am never wearing the same thing twice.
Its NOT the case at all. I focus on buying signature pieces that will last and mixing them with basics.
I still wear things I bought 4 and 5 years ago, if you look close you will see them make repeat appearances. Just mix it up

What is a splot page you ask?
A splot page is the old school pinterest
Well its something I have made since middle school. Do you remember gel pens? The sparkle ones, neon and ect. I doodled pages of pictures, quotes, ripped out words from magazines and I called it a splot page. I found a lot of time to doodle during my math classes when I was busy NOT focusing on math. ~~I regret my choice now.~~ With that said, I feel like pinterest is my adult splot page. Now I can say, "hey do you remember when we use to make splot pages of all those ads and saying we loved? How times have changed, what will those kids be up too next. "

Can I just say I love having a girl. Don't get me wrong, I ADORE snuggling my little guy and thats a whole other blog post. But, the other day Kaitlyn starting asking me about my clothes. Shes always been an easy one... never a diva about her hair or outfits. I was more worried about it than she was. Half the time she would be happy to go out after making mud pies and her clothes reflecting of that. Suddenly, out of now where, shes been caring more and more. Pretty soon I wonder if I will be allowed to pick her up in my PJs still. The Best friends forever talk has official started at our home and its so strange to think .... I am at this stage as a mom. She even has a secret code language with her bff Brooklyn and matching friendship necklaces.

She is growing up, I hope I am ready for it.

Remember how I have been talking about my film camera every now and again?
Its been a bit of a process and its almost over. There was some shipping back and forth, parts broken and fixed and finally, I got to see the results of my first roll. Now mind you, this was a quicky shoot at noon. Its a whole another ball game shooting digital v.s film. Tavis (who shoots strictly film) kept laughing at me because I would flip the camera over to look at the back, expecting to see a instant review that WAS NOT THERE. You have to make every shot count which is a refreshing way to take a picture. There is not a meter in the camera, so you have to use a handle held and everything takes a little more thought before clicking!!! I find it exciting and fun. Almost like Christmas to have to wait to see the result, even though I am little disappointed with my first try. I will only shoot film for braille&gold and for personal use. I have some work to do on my focus. Who wants to let me practice on them ??

Now, coming from a girl who is recently divorced... I understand this isnt the most favorable time for the craving. Its kinda like the grass is always greener effect or you want what you cant have. Well, I know I am light years away from holding a little one in my arms but, I can day dream right? I am honest, maybe too honest on my blog and its been a little up and down the last 5 months. I have had moments of both extremes. For the most part I can say I am doing well, I have survived my busiest, most successful wedding season yet. I have been mom everyday and managed to maintain some sort of social/networking life. All while healing something that was broken. But still, here I am not quite satisfied. Maybe I just like the visions I have of my life at that point. Maybe I cling to the calm chaos that comes with a newborn and the excitement wrapped around it. Maybe I am stuck on images like this, that fill my heart with warmth...

He showed me this pizzeria a couple months back and I have been in love with it since. The menus constantly changing and made up of all local products. I am a very social girl, I am always game for a dinner or lunch date. But sometimes there is nothing better than planing a quiet night with a hot bath. I shot a wedding Thursday, one yesterday and I am getting ready to head off to another. I have caffeine in hand, creative juices flowing and I am rewarding myself by coming home to this......Maybe Ill get myself a pumpkin spice latte and take a fall drive with the windows down, just to get nice and chilly before my bath.

I wont lie, I like the way my mind works. I hear melodies and see photos in everyday moments. I don't realize I'm doing it. Every now and again, I catch myself and think...I kinda like me. I like the way I see the world, I like the fact I search for the bright side. I look past the crap more than I should. So much so, I probably am overly tolerant of things and people I shouldn't be. I can not stay mad, ever, really I cant. Its to exhausting to hold on to things, its a good and bad trait. Im far from perfect...FAR and will never claim to be. Its just one of those days that I am grateful for simple things. This afternoon I was busy creating a picture perfect storyline while driving on the freeway. The melody that stuck out was The XX - heart skipped a beat. Its your lucky day, take a listen

The best birthday Ive ever had...

I got a knock on my door from a three foot tall little man... He wanted to seat me at my dinner table. As I walked around the side of the house and sat down I got a little choked up... It was honestly one of the sweetest things anyone has ever had done for me. I enjoyed homemade Italian soda, fettuccine alfredo and angel food cake with strawberries. The best part of my meal was watching my "servers" smiles as they walked towards me, making sure I didn't need a napkin or a blanket. They only asked to be payed with kisses and I was more than happy to oblige. I enjoyed my dinner by candle light, under the stars with this song in the background.... it was priceless and the best birthday I have ever had. Ever....
